Peninsular Malaysia

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars and with steel bars) in all regions for all building categories showed increases in February 2016 as compared to the previous month except for (R.C.) piling building category in region F-Eastern.

The unit price index of building materials that showed changes in February 2016 compared to the previous month are as follows:

Sabah

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars and with steel bars) for all building categories in Kota Kinabalu showed increases except for timber building, timber piling, (R.C.) piling and single storey steel frame (tower only) which stated no change in February 2016 as compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, the BCI (without steel bars and with steel bars) for all building categories in Sandakan and Tawau stated no change as compared to the previous month.

Changes in unit price index for building materials by region in Sabah are as follows:

Sarawak

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars) for almost all building categories in Kuching and several categories in Miri showed decreases in February 2016 compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the BCI in Sibu for all building categories unchanged in February 2016 as compared to January 2016.

The BCI (with steel bars) in all regions in Sarawak showed changes for almost all building categories in February 2016 as compared to the previous month.
