The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars and with steel bars) by category of building in several regions showed changes in June 2016 except for region B-Perak which remained unchanged as compared to the previous month.

The unit price index of building materials that showed changes in June 2016 compared to the previous month are as follows:

Sabah

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (with steel bars) in Sabah recorded increases for several categories of buildings in Sandakan and Tawau. Meanwhile, the BCI (without steel bars) showed no change in June 2016 as compared to the previous month.

Changes in unit price index for building materials by region in Sabah are as follows:

Sarawak

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars) in Sarawak recorded no change in June 2016 compared to the previous month except for certain categories of buildings in Kuching and Miri. However, the BCI (with steel bars) in all regions recorded changes in almost all categories of buildings as compared to the previous month.
