Peninsular Malaysia

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars and with steel bars) by category of building in all regions showed increases except for (R.C.) piling which showed decreases in region A-Northern, C-Central and F-Eastern in July 2016 as compared to the previous month.

The unit price index of building materials that showed changes in July 2016 compared to the previous month are as follows:

Sabah

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars) in Sabah recorded no change for all categories of buildings except for single storey (R.C.) building in Sandakan which showed decreases by 0.1 per cent. Meanwhile, the BCI (with steel bars) showed changes for several categories of buildings in Sabah except for timber building and timber piling which stated no change in July 2016 as compared to the previous month.  

Changes in unit price index for building materials by region in Sabah are as follows:

Sarawak

The Building Material Cost Index (BCI) (without steel bars and with steel bars) in Kuching and Sibu recorded increases for almost all categories of buildings in July 2016 as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, no change was registered for most building categories in Miri except for 2-4 storey (R.C.) building (flat roof), 2-4 storey (R.C.) building (pitched roof) and (R.C.) piling which showed decreases of 0.1 per cent.
