Performance Review – Indices (November 2021)

Without steel bars:

The BCI for all region in Peninsular Malaysia recorded an increase between 0.1 and 1.3 per cent for all building categories in November 2021 as compared to the previous month.

The BCI in all regions in Sabah increased between 0.1 and 1.7 per cent for all categories of building except for Timber Piling and R.C. Piling that showed no changes. Meanwhile, the BCI in Sarawak showed an increase between 0.1 and 1.8 per cent in November 2021 except for Single Storey (R.C.) Building and R.C. Piling in Sibu recorded no changes.

With steel bars:

The BCI with steel bars for all regions in Peninsular Malaysia increased between 0.1 to 1.7 per cent for almost all building categories in November 2021 as compared to the preceding month.

Meanwhile, the BCI in Sabah and Sarawak increased between 0.1 and 2.1 per cent for almost all categories of building.

Changes in Unit Price Indices (November 2021)

The changes in unit price indices of building materials by region across Malaysia are shown in Table 1.
