Malaysia’s Manufacturing sales grew by 2.3 per cent to RM73.5 billion in November 2019

Malaysia’s Manufacturing sales grew by 2.3 per cent in November 2019 to register at RM73.5 billion as compared to RM71.8 billion reported a year ago. The year-on-year growth was driven by the increase in Non-Metallic Mineral Products, Basic Metal & Fabricated Metal Products (6.8%), Transport Equipment & Other Manufactures Products (5.3%) and Electrical & Electronics Products (1.6%).

Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in November 2019 was 1,089,336 persons, an increase of 1.2 per cent or 13,411 persons as compared to 1,075,925 persons in November 2018. Salaries & wages paid amounted to RM3,965.3 million, went up 3.1 per cent or RM118.7 million in November 2019 as against the same month of the preceding year.

The sales value per employee grew by 1.1 per cent to record RM67,430 as compared with the same month in 2018. Meanwhile, the average salaries & wages per employee was RM3,640 in November 2019.
