Export Import Statistics By State,
July 2023
- Malaysia’s total trade for July 2023 amounted to RM216.4 billion with exports and imports recorded RM116.8 billion and RM99.7 billion, respectively.
- Exports was valued at RM116.8 billion in July 2023, decreased RM17.6 billion (-13.1%) as compared to the same month of the previous year. The decrease in exports was attributed to the lower exports in most states such as Johor (-RM8.2 billion), Sarawak (-RM3.4 billion), Selangor (-RM3.4 billion), W.P. Kuala Lumpur (-RM3.3 billion), Terengganu (-RM1.1 billion), Sabah (-RM860.5 million), Melaka (-RM446.1 million), Negeri Sembilan (-RM238.6 million) and Perak (-RM27.4 million). However, exports increased in Pulau Pinang by RM2.1 billion, Kedah (+RM1.2 billion), W.P. Labuan (+RM462.3 million), Kelantan (+RM167.4 million), Perlis (+RM6.4 million) and Pahang (+RM6.2 million).
- Pulau Pinang remained as the top exporter with 33.9 per cent share, followed by Johor (19.6%), Selangor (17.8%), Sarawak (7.0%) and Kedah (4.4%).
- At the same time, imports also decreased RM18.8 billion (-15.9%) in July 2023 as compared to the same month in 2022. The decrease in imports was contributed by the lower imports in most states such as Pulau Pinang (-RM5.8 billion), Johor (-RM4.9 billion), W.P. Kuala Lumpur (-RM2.5 billion), Selangor (-RM2.0 billion), Kedah (-RM1.2 billion), Sarawak (-RM811.8 million), Perak (-RM644.6 million), Pahang (-RM427.5 million), Negeri Sembilan (-RM405.6 million), Terengganu (-RM68.6 million) and Sabah (-RM49.3 million). However, imports increased in Melaka by RM226.2 million, W.P. Labuan (+RM136.7 million), Kelantan (+RM20.2 million) and Perlis (+RM1.7 million).
- Selangor continued to dominate Malaysia’s imports with a share of 27.8 per cent, followed by Johor (22.9%), Pulau Pinang (19.6%), W.P. Kuala Lumpur (7.2%) and Sarawak (5.0%).
