The Department of Statistics, Malaysia (DOSM) is conducting the Survey of Household Income and Basic Amenities Survey. The survey was carried out using the personal interview approach and self-response via web-based. Coverage of the survey are households living in private living quarters only. Components of the basis amenities covered were education, health, housing, household appliances & amenities and acessibility of food supply. The main objectives of the survey are to collect information on income distribution pattern of households, to gather current statistics on poor households and to identify the accessibility of basic amenities by households. Data from the survey are used by the government as input in evaluating the national development plan, especially the Twelfth Malaysia Plan. In addition, the statistics will also be as input to the Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The information collected is published in the publication namely "Household Income and Basic Amenities Survey Report".
