Overview

 

 

In the second quarter of 2022,  volume  index  of Wholesale  &  Retail  Trade  registered  a growth  of  19.3 per cent to  reach 142.2 points as compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The positive growth was recorded in Motor Vehicles and Retail Trade sub-sectors with 66.4 per cent and 23.9 per cent, respectively, followed by Wholesale Trade of  5.6 per cent. Meanwhile, for quarter-on-quarter comparison, volume index also increased  5.6 per cent in this quarter.

Seasonally adjusted volume index of Wholesale & Retail Trade grew 8.5 per cent as against the first quarter of 2022. The  positive  growth  was  contributed   by  Retail  Trade,  Motor Vehicles  and   Wholesale   Trade  sub-sectors   of   16.4 per cent,  14.6 per cent; and 4.0 per cent  respectively.
