outside labour force

All persons not classified as employed or unemployed as stated above are classified as outside labour force. Includes housewives, students (including those going for further studies), retired, disabled persons and those not interested in looking for a job.

 

own-account producers

Own-account producers consist of establishments engaged in gross fixed capital formation for the enterprises of which they form part or unincorporated enterprises owned by households all or most of whose output is intended for final consumption  or gross fixed capital formation by those households.

own-account workers

Own-account workers are self-employed persons without paid employees.

ownership

The ownership of an establishment is classified according to the residential status of the owner (s) of the majority paid-up capital (more than 50 per cent) and not by their citizenship status. In cases where each party (Malaysian residents and non-Malaysian residents) held equal shares in the business, the establishment is classified under 'jointownership'.

A Malaysian resident is any individual, enterprise or other organisation ordinarily domiciled in Malaysia for a period of at least one year. Malaysian registered branches and incorporated subsidiaries of foreign enterprises are regarded as Malaysian residents.

A non-Malaysian resident is any individual, enterprise or other organisation ordinarily domiciled in a country other than Malaysia. Foreign branches and subsidiaries of Malaysian companies are regarded as non-residents.

Destruction of ozone in the stratosphere, where it shields the earth from harmful ultraviolet  radiation.  Its destruction is caused by chemical reactions in which oxides of hydrogen, nitrogen, chlorine and bromine act as catalysts.
