Overview

 

 

Sales value of Wholesale & Retail Trade recorded RM133.7 billion  in  August  2022,  registered  a  growth  of   33.7  per  cent  year-on-year. The positive growth was contributed  by  all  sub-sectors,  namely  Motor  Vehicles   185.3  per  cent,  Retail  Trade   34.5 per cent, and Wholesale Trade  16.0 per cent.

In terms of volume index, Wholesale & Retail Trade recorded  27.0 per cent year-on-year to register  145.6 points. The increment was supported by the increase in  Motor  Vehicles  169.6 per cent,  Retail  Trade  30.1 per cent  and  Wholesale  Trade  7.4 per cent. As for seasonally adjusted volume index, it went up  3.1 per cent month-on-month in August 2022.
