Overview

Malaysia's economic performance eased with labour market remained stable amid the decreased projection of the world global growth

MESR Volume 8/2023 focuses on the recent statistics released in June 2023 and some forthcoming statistics for July 2023. There are also highlights on Malaysia’s economic situation in the second quarter of 2023. Furthermore, this edition is complemented with a box article entitled “Employment and Gender: Examining the Average Hourly Earnings and Wage Gap” that analysed the gender-based wage inequalities; and gender wage gap based on education attainment, skills and sector in Malaysia. 

This MESR will assist users to have the latest information on the economic performance in detail.
