Malaysia's Manufacturing sales grew marginally 0.6 per cent in July 2021 to RM119.8  billion

Malaysia’s Manufacturing sales in July 2021 stood at RM119.8 billion, grew 0.6 per cent as compared to previous year. The rise in sales value in July 2021 was driven by Petroleum, Chemical, Rubber & Plastic Products (42.3%) and Food, Beverages & Tobacco Products (7.1%).  Meanwhile, on month-on-month basis, the sales value decreased 3.6 per cent.

Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in July 2021 was 2,210,084 persons, an increase of 0.8 per cent as compared to 2,192,260 persons in July 2020. Salaries & wages paid amounted to RM7,194.8 million, increased by 1.5 per cent or RM104.0 million in July 2021 as against the same month of the preceding year.

The sales value per employee decreased by 0.2 per cent to record RM54,222 as compared with the same month in 2020. Meanwhile, the average salaries & wages per employee was RM3,255 in July 2021.
