PERFORMANCE OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION INDEX The Industrial Production Index (IPI) grew by 4.7% in November 2014 compared with the same month in the previous year. The increase in November 2014 was due to the positive growth in all indices: Manufacturing (3.7%), Mining (7.6%) and Electricity (3.2%).
The IPI inOctober 2014 has been revised to 5.1% year-on-year. In seasonally adjusted terms, the IPI in November 2014 increased by 1.5% month-on-month due to the increase in all indices: Manufacturing (1.3%), Mining (2.3%) and Electricity (1.8%). |

PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURING SECTOR On a yearly basis, Manufacturing output grew by 3.7% in November 2014 following an increase of 3.2% in October 2014.
The sub-sectors which contributed to the increase in November 2014 were: Electrical and Electronics Products (10.2%); Petroleum, Chemical, Rubber and Plastic Products (1.8%); and Non-metallic Mineral Products, Basic Metal and Fabricated Metal Products (2.7%). On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, Manufacturing output increased by 1.3% in November 2014. |
PERFORMANCE OF MINING SECTOR Output of the Mining sector increased by 7.6% in November 2014 as compared to the same month in 2013. he strong growth was due to the increase in Crude Oil index (13.9%) and Natural Gas index (0.9%). As against October 2014, the seasonally adjusted output for the Mining sector increased by 2.3%. |

PERFORMANCE OF ELECTRICITY SECTOR The Electricity output recorded an increase of 3.2% in November 2014 on yearly basis. In seasonally adjusted terms, Electricity output increased by 1.8% in November 2014 as compared to the previous month. |
PERFORMANCE OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION INDEX FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY TO NOVEMBER 2014

During the period January to November 2014, Malaysia's Industrial Production Index expanded 4.9% compared with the same period in the previous year. The expansion was contributed by the increase in all indices: Manufacturing (5.9%), Mining (2.2%) and Electricity (4.8%). | |||
