The volume index of Distributive Trade posted a growth of 8.1 per cent in the fourth quarter 2014 as against the same period of the previous year. The growth was underpinned by the increase in all indices; Retail Trade (9.8%), Wholesale Trade (7.2%) and Motor Vehicles (6.7%).

The seasonally adjusted index of Distributive Trade in the current quarter went up by 2.1 per cent as compared to the third quarter of 2014. The increase was driven by the Retail Trade (3.5%) and Wholesale Trade (2.0%).

  1. Data for fourth quarter 2014 is provisional. The data will be updated based on the latest available figures and subsequently published in the publication first quarter 2015.
