KILM 8: Unemployment
The unemployed are classified into two that is the actively unemployed and inactively unemployed. The actively unemployed includes all persons who did not work during the reference week but were available for work and actively looking for work during the reference week. Inactively unemployed persons include the following categories:
a) persons who did not work because they believed no work was available or that they were not qualified;
b) persons who would have looked for work if they had not been temporarily ill or had it not been for bad weather;
c) persons who were waiting for result of job applications; and
d) persons who had looked for work prior to the reference week.
Unemployment rate is the propotion of unemployed population to the total population in labour force. This rate measures the percentage of unemployed population in labour force.

kilm 9: youth unemployment
KILM 9: Youth unemployment
The four measurements of youth unemployment are:
a) youth unemployment rate (youth unemployment as a percentage of the youth labour force);
b) ratio of the youth unemployment rate to the adult unemployment rate;
c) youth unemployment as a proportion of total unemployment; and
d) youth unemployment as a proportion of the youth population.
Youth refers to those who are between 15 to 24 years age group (in completed years at last birthday) during the reference week.
Adult refers to those who are between 25 to 64 years age group (in completed years at last birthday) during the reference week.

kind-of-activity unit
A kind-of-activity unit is an enterprise, or a part of an enterprise, which engages in only one kind of (non-ancillary) productive activity or in which the principal productive activity accounts for most of the value added.
