Malaysia’s Manufacturing sales remains double digit growth, 15.3 per cent with an amount of RM140.7 billion in October 2021
Malaysia’s Manufacturing sales in October 2021 stood at RM140.7 billion, grew 15.3 per cent as compared to the same month of the previous year. The rise in sales value was driven by the Petroleum, Chemical, Rubber & Plastic Products (27.0%), Electrical & Electronics Products (16.9%) and Food, Beverages & Tobacco Products (11.8%). Meanwhile, on month-on-month basis, the sales value increased 4.0 per cent.
Total employees engaged in the Manufacturing sector in October 2021 was 2,241,048 persons, an increase of 2.4 per cent as compared to 2,188,520 persons in October 2020. Salaries & wages paid amounted to RM7,522.8 million, increased by 4.4 per cent or RM317.3 million in October 2021 as against the same month of the preceding year.
The sales value per employee increased by 12.6 per cent to record RM62,781 as compared with the same month in 2020. Meanwhile, the average salaries & wages per employee was RM3,357 in October 2021.
